Fluency and Perfectionism

Hi all, sorry for the hiatus! I’ve been quite busy this summer. But now I’m back (I hope) and I should be more frequent with posts. I have some ideas in store, as always I'd like to get more ideas of what you want to learn. :) This post is more about inspiration and encouragement than actual lesson in spoken Finnish. First of all, I apologize for poor structuring and possible errors. I feel like I'm coming down with something but I just wanted to post this.

This summer I’ve been working at an environment that has made me use all the languages I know, no matter how small my knowledge is. And I dare to say, it has been one of the best things to improve my language skills.

I don’t necessarily see fluency in a language as perfect grammar and vast vocabulary even if aspiring towards them is important. What I think is real fluency is the creative use if what you know: even if you don’t know certain word, try to find a way around it. Is there another way of saying what you want? Can you use body language to get your point across?

Let go of the useless insecurity. Use what you know!
